ZAGREB, Aug 18 (Hina) - Following a request by the United Nations
for a larger Croatian police contingent in Kosovo, seven Croatian police
officers leave for Kosovo on Monday to join the UN peacekeeping mission (UNMIK)
for a term of 12 months. The seven policemen will join two
colleagues of theirs who have been serving in UNMIK since July this year,
Interior Ministry deputy spokeswoman Emina Lisic said on Friday.
In cooperation with the UN, the ministry plans to organise the first
international course for police officers who are to be sent on peace missions.
The course will take place in Valbandon near the northern Adriatic city of Pula
in September.
