ZAGREB, Aug 17 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic has dismissed
criticism from Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) leader Ante Djapic, who said at a
press conference on Wednesday that his party was not pleased with the
country's foreign policy and the work of President Mesic as the co-architect of
foreign policy. "I am the co-architect of foreign policy under the
Constitution. I think that all analyses have shown that it is a good policy and
that it is in our national interests. I have never been criticised in that
regard except by some radical right-wing circles, including Mr Djapic," Mesic
said on Thursday.
"I can understand that he is unhappy because we have different
political views and it is quite clear that I would be very unhappy if Djapic
praised my policies," the President was quoted by Croatian Radio as telling
reporters on the southern island of Hvar.
