BELGRADE, Aug 10 (Hina) - Serbia's integration with the European
Union is supported by 57% of Serbian citizens, but their confidence in the
European bloc is quite low, only 22%, shows a survey conducted by the
"Strategic marketing" agency from Belgrade. The agency's director,
Srdjan Bogosavljevic, told Blic daily of Thursday that the low confidence in
the EU was not logical, but that it was the result of "citizens lacking a clear
picture of the conditions which Serbia is expected to meet to join the EU".
"Citizens feel that the EU is blackmailing them too much,"
Bogosavljevic said.
The survey also shows that only every tenth citizen trusts NATO. The
survey, conducted on 21-24 July, covered 1,027 respondents.
