Mesic told Podgorica-based daily Republika of Friday that Croatia was satisfied with the fact that the Prevlaka peninsula was no longer the issue that it used to be and that there were no incidents with Montenegro.
"If the present model is functioning well, let us leave it at that until we create an atmosphere favourable for a final solution," Mesic said.
Vujanovic said that the temporary solution should be given more time considering that it was functioning well for both countries.
"I do not wish to prejudge a final model, but this temporary solution could be looked at as yet another idea which should be discussed bilaterally and which could also become a permanent solution," Vujanovic said.
Mesic said Croatia wanted to develop the possible best good-neighbourly relations with Montenegro.
