Bogunovic's assessment was supported by representatives of the Croat National Council, the umbrella organisation of local Croats.
Responding to a recent statement by several Hungarian NGOs which urged the Hungarian president to protect the Hungarian minority in Serbia, Bogunovic said that the number of ethnic incidents involving Serb refugees and local minorities in Vojvodina was dropping.
The head of the Croat National Council, Josip Pekanovic, confirmed a decrease in the number of incidents directed against local Croats.
Most incidents against Croats in Vojvodina occurred in early 2004, after the big electoral victory of the Serbian Radical Party.
