He was speaking to the press on the occasion of Information Day About the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
Primorac said Croatia had made a big step by fully adjusting its legislation in said area, as confirmed when negotiations on the science and research chapter were opened and closed in the same day -- June 12.
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said on that occasion Croatia would increase investment in science and research.
The chief of the EC Delegation in Croatia, Vincent Degert, who was also present at the press conference, said it was very important that Croatia had the support of science circles in entry negotiations with the EU, which he added would be very important in the next, more difficult chapters.
Also attending the conference was JRC Director General Roland Schenkel.
The JRC Information Day pooled representatives of Croatia's government and science community as well as of the EC JRC for talks on the latest achievements, plans in the field of research and possibilities of cooperation.
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre is headed by European Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik. The Centre cooperates with some 1,000 public and private organisations and is actively involved in EU enlargement by openly supporting accession candidates.
