Montenegrin Foreign Minister Miodrag Vlahovic and Estonian Ambassador Karin Jaani signed a joint statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
China will recognise Montenegro as a sovereign and independent state very soon, Consul Liu Wenxin said while visiting the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry.
Local media said Montenegro would be admitted to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe as the 56th member on June 21.
Minister Vlahovic today sent a letter to Council of the European Union Chair Ursula Plassnik stating Montenegro's readiness to establish diplomatic ties with the Union.
The minister also underlined the readiness of Montenegro as a European-oriented state to honour European values and to work on adopting and implementing standards and principles in the Stabilisation and Association process as well as on the further institutionalisation of Montenegro-EU relations.
