"The constant promotion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in different areas and the further development of Chinese-Croatian partnership in all-round cooperation are in accordance with the basic interests of our two countries and peoples and at the same time an expression of our common desire," the Chinese president wrote.
In his message, which was in response to a letter sent by President Mesic, President Hu noted that China and Croatia had deepened their friendship and mutual trust and developed their relations since they established diplomatic ties 14 years ago.
The Chinese president announced he would visit Croatia at a mutually suitable time.
