Racan underlined the importance of cooperation between the two social democratic parties, noting that Croatia had always enjoyed the support of and had friendly relations with Germany and SPD leaders.
The guests concurred with the statement, saying that all social democratic parties in Europe should intensify their cooperation in the future, the Croatian Parliament's public relations office said in a statement.
Racan spoke of the role of the national committee and the process of the EU membership talks. The need to increase the support of the Croatian public for their country's EU membership bid was also mentioned.
Racan asked for Germany's assistance once Croatia fulfilled the EU membership criteria, the statement said.
At the end of the meeting, Racan accepted an invitation to visit the Bundestag in January 2007.
