ADAC has conducted a survey of extra costs in 40 swimming destinations in Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Spain and Turkey, comparing prices of such typical products as sun cream, mineral water, beer, capuccino, ice-cream, chips and deck chairs.
France was assessed as the most expensive, followed by Italy and Portugal. Greece and Spain were rated as moderately expensive, while Turkey, Germany and Croatia were evaluated as favourable.
The survey covered five destinations in Croatia -- Mali Losinj, Umag, Rovinj, Medulin and Porec, all situated in the Northern Adriatic. Porec was described as the most expensive and Mali Losinj as the most favourable.
The survey illustrated huge differences in extra costs between expensive and favourable countries by citing prices of capuccino. While in Croatia a cup of capuccino costs 89 euro cents on average, in France it costs as much as 3.15 euros.
