The goal of the Chamber is to provide organised representation of interests of Hungarian-owned companies in Croatia and Croatian companies which have business relations with Hungarian ones.
The Chamber will offer expert assistance and information to members in connection with the economies and business customs in Hungary and Croatia. It will also advise members on investment and sale in the two countries.
The establishment of the Chamber was supported by the Chambers of the Economy of Croatia and Hungary, whose leaders will meet later today. A Croatian-Hungarian business meeting will also be held, organised by the Hungarian Embassy's Office for Economic Relations.
Croatia-Hungary trade in 2005 was USD711.6 million, according to Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics.
Croatian exports were USD137.4 million, up 33.2 per cent from 2004, while imports were USD574.2 million, up 12.9 per cent. The Croatian trade deficit with Hungary last year was USD436.8 million, up 7.7 per cent from 2004.
