Noting that this was the first visit of a Lichtenstein government official to Croatia, Grabar-Kitarovic told reporters after the meeting that they discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of culture, tourism and investment in Croatia, as well as the political situation in Southeast Europe.
Grabar-Kitarovic said she had requested Lichtenstein's support for Croatia's candidacy for non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in the 2008-2009 period, the UN Peace Building Commission and the Commission on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.
The Croatian minister took the opportunity to thank Lichtenstein for humanitarian assistance to Croatia during the 1991-1995 war.
Kieber-Beck said that she had met Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic on Tuesday and that they had agreed a project envisaging an exchange of books between the national libraries. "I am convinced that our bilateral relations, which are already excellent, will be even better," she said.
Earlier in the day, the Lichtenstein minister met President Stjepan Mesic, and in the afternoon she was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
