ZAGREB, May 8 (Hina) - The Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) called on the Government on Monday to sent to parliament a bill under which strict sanctions would be imposed on those spreading hate speech and provoking ethnically motivated incidents.

The party said it urges that bill because the authorities and the police were not reacting to hate speech and ethnically provoked incidents.

SDSS vice president Milorad Pupovac told a news conference that 12 ethnically motivated incidents were committed in the first four months of this year, adding that the authorities failed to react properly.

Pupovac said he would send to the Croatian Journalists' Association an analysis of some media in Croatia which were systematically spreading hate speech, destabilising inter-ethnic relations and preventing coexistence of the majority people and the Serb minority.
