ZAGREB, April 17 (Hina) - The new head of the Croatian Heritage Foundation, Katarina Fucek, has said that this institution should be a link with the Croatian Diaspora providing service for needs of Croatians abroad.

Tasks within the remit of the Foundation are to be at the service of Croatians abroad, provide them with correct information and support their cultural projects and help include other institutions in the Diaspora's programmes, Fucek said on Monday speaking about her platform.

For instance, Croatian emigrants ask about possibilities for investments in the homeland, particularly small entrepreneurs who would like to launch their projects (here). The Croatian Heritage Foundation will find possibilities to offer them the appropriate information and refer them to competent institutions, such as the government, ministries the Croatian Chamber of the Economy that have mechanisms for this kind of support, Fucek told Hina on Monday.

She added that the Foundation's website was visited by 800,000 visitors monthly, and the monthly magazine 'Matica' was sent to 3,500 addresses abroad.

Commenting on her plans, Fucek said that there were three important projects which should be carried out: to open a Museum of the Croatian Diaspora, to publish a lexicon for Croatians abroad and prepare an anthology of literature of the Croatian Diaspora.

For 55 years, the Foundation has organised cultural, educational, sporting and publishing events for Croatians abroad. It also cooperates with autochthonous Croatian minorities in other countries.
