DUBROVNIK, May 7 (Hina) - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney left the Croatian seaside resort of Dubrovnik on board Boeing 757 shortly after 1400 hrs Sunday after he held talks with Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Saturday and attended a summit meeting of prime ministers of the U.S.-Adriiatic Charter on Sunday morning.

Several Croatian ministers, including Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, Science and Education Minister Dragan Primorac and other officials saw off this high-ranking U.S. guest at the Cilipi airport.

Cheney described his visit to Dubrovnik and meetings with Mesic and Sanader as very significant for the development of US-Croatia relations.

We Americans are tremendously impressed with Croatia's progress over the past few years. We are strongly supportive of Croatia becoming a full member of the trans-Atlantic community, Cheney said after the dinner with Sanader on Saturday evening.

We also deeply appreciate Croatia's current involvement in Afghanistan, in a very difficult situation in that part of the world, he added.
