After the talks, Roncevic told reporters he informed the Danish minister of the implementation of the defence reform.
Commenting on bilateral cooperation, the Danish minister supported the project aimed at establishing a NATO diving centre in the Sveti Nikola barracks in Split and a mine removal centre worth EUR200,000.
Minister Gade stressed that Croatia must join NATO as soon as possible, saying that Denmark supported Croatia on that path.
NATO is not only a military alliance but also a guarantee of stability and economic progress, the Danish official said, adding that his country would help Croatia implement the necessary reforms through the project of the Nordic initiative.
Roncevic said Croatia still had to entirely professionalise the army, adding that this required the transition of people who fail to meet the criteria of such an army.
Asked about military cooperation between Croatia and the United States, Minister Roncevic said the Croatia-US cooperation was good, although the two countries had more joint activities in the past.
"It's no secret that we no longer enjoy the financial assistance in expert training," Roncevic said, adding that Croatia was financing expert training of Croatians at US military schools by itself.
