ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - The Slovene Helsinki Monitor (HMS) and the Croatian human rights association whose acronym is CERD, on Friday stated that they had invested cases of the killing of 31 conscripts of the then Yugoslav People's Army in Slovenia during the war in 1991.

Representatives of the two organisations held a news conference in Zagreb to present cases of wounded JNA conscripts who now live in Croatia or are Croats from Bosnia-Herzegovina. They believe that the Chief Prosecutor of the UN war crimes tribunal (ICTY) must be informed of these cases.

Asked by reporters whether the HMS had pressed charges against the JNA for the killing of two Austrian journalists at the Ljubljana airport of Brnik during that brief war in 1991, an HMS representative answered that "the Slovene authorities initiated the charges or should have done so".
