Commission officials, former entrynegotiators from the European Union's new members, and members of theacademic community, the EC Delegation in Croatia said on Friday.
ZAGREB, April 28 (Hina) - The central event of European Week in
Croatia from May 2 to 10 will be an international conference in Zagreb on May 9
which will pool Croatian leaders, members of the European Parliament, senior
European Commission officials, former entry negotiators from the European
Union's new members, and members of the academic community, the EC Delegation
in Croatia said on Friday. Among the officials to attend the
conference, called "Croatia on the Road to the EU: Lessons Learned and
Challenges", will be Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivo
Sanader, EC Delegation chief Vincent Degert, director of the EC Directorate
General for Enlargement and negotiator for Croatia and Turkey Pierre Mirel, and
Croatia's chief negotiator Vladimir Drobnjak.
During European Week in Croatia, which is organised by the EC
Delegation, various events will be staged in Zagreb, Rijeka, Split and
Dubrovnik.
Europe Day is observed on May 9 throughout the EU, but Croatia is one
of the few countries in the accession process which has been observing it for
several years in a unique fashion, namely with a week of the most various
events, the EC Delegation said.
