Mesic was speaking to reporters during a meeting of the US-Adriatic Charter on the northern Adriatic archipelago of Brijuni.
"This is obviously media speculation, I have been officially invited to visit Iran, it is our turn now because the Iranian president has already visited Croatia," Mesic said when asked to comment on reports in a Croatian weekly saying that he had accepted an invitation to mediate in the current crisis between Iran and the USA.
"The date of the visit has not been determined yet because it depends on many things, including my very busy schedule for this year," Mesic said.
The president added that the public would be informed on time once the visit had been arranged.
