PRISTINA, April 14 (Hina) - The United States special envoy to the Kosovo final status talks, Frank Wisner, arrived in Pristina on Friday for a two-day visit and said that the status talks should be completed this year.

Speaking to reporters after talks with international and local officials, Wisner said that the purpose of his visit to Kosovo and later to Belgrade was to gather information on the views of the two sides so that the US could assist in the search for a settlement that would ensure the stability and prosperity of Kosovo and the entire region and its integration with the European Union.

Wisner also said that Washington supported the efforts by UN chief negotiator Martti Ahtisaari.
