ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - The government on Wednesday adopted a
draft national health development strategy for the period 2006-2011 and sent to
parliament bills of amendments to laws on health care, mandatory and voluntary
health insurance, and health care at work. Prime Minister Ivo
Sanader said this was a step forward in the health reform which would take into
account the financial status of members of the public.
Health Minister Neven Ljubicic said the bills enjoyed the full support
of trade unions, employers and patients' associations.
The health development strategy insists on the standardisation of
hospitals, the financial stabilisation of the system, including the
restructuring of the Croatian Health Insurance Agency, and stronger preventive
activities.
