A four-member delegation of the Croatian Science, Education and Sports Ministry officially visited Japan on March 5-9, at the invitation of the Japanese Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Minister Kenji Kosaka.
Japan saw Croatia and its science and education system as a partner for cooperate," Minister Primorac said upon his return from Japan.
He said that Japanese state secretary for science and technology policy Iwao Matsuda presented them with the Japanese national strategy for the development of science and technology in the 2006-2010 period.
Japanese Education Minister Kenji Kosaka and Croatian Minister Primorac agreed on possible fields for scientific cooperation concerning the environmental protection, sustainable development of the ocean and the Adriatic Sea, biotechnology, food and health system.
Primorac told reporters in Zagreb today he had invited the Japanese minister to visit Croatia. Kosaka accepted the invitation.
The Croatian minister and the president of the Japanese agency for the promotion of science, Ono Motoyuki, signed a letter of intent regarding the drawing up of a programme for joint research projects and expert seminars.
The Croatian delegation was also received by a member of the Japanese parliament, Koji Omi.
