"Conflict of interest cannot be rooted out of the society, but it can be avoided. One of the ways to do so is good and permanent regional cooperation and education aimed at the prevention of possible conflict of interest," Kacan told reporters after the working meeting with his Montenegrin counterpart.
He expressed satisfaction with the intensified cooperation between the two countries' commissions and announced the signing of a similar memorandum with the Slovenian corruption prevention commission.
Lekovic invited his Croatian colleagues to attend a seminar in Montenegro to be organised this month by the Montenegrin commission. Special attention is attached to regional cooperation so the Montenegrin agency has already signed memorandums with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Albania, Romania and Serbia. Memorandums will soon be signed with Hungary and Bulgaria.
