Beef goulash is made according to Podravka's recipe and the company's brand which is sold in Croatia, many European countries and in Australia, according to Podravka's press release.
The director of the Podravka office in the United States, Domagoj Kero, is quoted in the press release as saying that Podravka's partner in the U.S. has a long tradition in canned food production.
The decision to produce canned goulash was made following the excellent results of the production of chicken pate, which started last year.
So far, Podravka products sold on the US market have been manufactured in Australia, after the Food and Drug Agency (FDA) banned the import of chicken and beef products from all European countries to the United States a few years ago.
Podravka's exports to the U.S. and Canadian market increased 15 percent in 2010.
This Croatian company has been present on that market for more than 15 years, with its best selling product being the Vegeta condiment.
