His predecessor was Ivo Miro Jovic, as the representative of the Croat people in that body.
During a ceremony in Sarajevo today, Tihic, who is also the chief of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), said that this was the last rotation within the presidency during this term of office as the next general election are scheduled for October this year.
Tihic said he was hopefully the last chairman of Bosnia's presidency, referring to constitutional changes which are expected to be signed soon and to establish the post of the country's president instead of the current presidency which consists of representatives of the three constituent peoples, Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs.
