THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, Feb 22 (Hina) - Croatian Justice Minister Ana Lovrin on Wednesday visited the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), where she met ICTY President Fausto Pocar and Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte, a member of the Croatian delegation visiting The Hague said.

During the visit, which was dedicated to Croatia's cooperation with EUROJUST, an institution which coordinates judicial cooperation among the 25 EU member-states, Minister Lovrin met the highest ICTY officials.

"The meetings confirmed the good cooperation and the absence of outstanding issues between Croatia and the tribunal," Assistant Minister Jaksa Muljacic, in charge of cooperation with the ICTY and other international courts, told Hina on the telephone.

Muljacic confirmed that Minister Lovrin today also met the president of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Rosalyn Higgins, and the president of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Phillipe Kirsch.

Asked if Minister Lovrin was scheduled to visit General Ante Gotovina in the ICTY's detention unit, Muljacic said that there was no time to visit the general due to the minister's busy schedule.

Yesterday's meeting between Minister Lovrin and EUROJUST director Michael Kennedy marked the start of talks on an agreement on Croatia's admission to EUROJUST, Muljacic said, adding that Croatia had been given the green light to join the EU's judicial institution.

Apart from Minister Lovrin and Assistant Minister Muljacic, the Croatian delegation consisted of Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic and a state secretary at the Foreign Ministry, Hido Biscevic.
