ZAGREB, Feb 21 (Hina) - Croatian Justice Minister Ana Lovrin, who is paying a working visit to The Hague on Tuesday and Wednesday, today met the head of the European Union's Judicial Cooperation Unit (EUROJUST), Michael Kennedy, to discuss cooperation between EUROJUST and Croatia, the minister's office said in a statement.

EUROJUST was established in 2002 with the aim of furthering the efficiency of EU member-countries' bodies involved in investigations and criminal prosecution of perpetrators of grave criminal acts and of cross-border and organised crime.

EUROJUST promotes the coordination of investigations and prosecution between competent institutions of EU member-countries, notably by facilitating international legal aid and implementing extradition requests, the statement said.

On Wednesday Lovrin will meet the president of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Fausto Pocar, and ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte to discuss the continuation of Croatia's cooperation with the ICTY.

The minister will also meet the president of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Phillipe Kirsch, and the president of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Rosalyn Higgins.
