According to initial figures for last year's tourism turnover, about 600,000 or 6.3 per cent more tourists vacationed in Croatia than in 2004, generating about 3.6 million or 7.5 per cent more overnight stays.
Foreigners accounted for nearly 85 per cent of all arrivals and 89 per cent of all overnight stays.
Some 8.46 million foreign tourists visited Croatia in 2005, up seven per cent from 2004, generating 45.98 million overnights, up eight per cent.
There were 1.52 million domestic tourists, an increase of 1.3 per cent, generating 5.43 million overnights, up 2.4 per cent from 2004.
