ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - Thanks to tourism revenue, Croatia recorded acurrent account balance of payments surplus of EUR2.26 billion in thethird quarter of 2005, or 13.8 per cent more than in the same periodof 2004, according to the
latest figures from the central bank.
ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - Thanks to tourism revenue, Croatia recorded
a current account balance of payments surplus of EUR2.26 billion in the third
quarter of 2005, or 13.8 per cent more than in the same period of 2004,
according to the latest figures from the central bank. Tourism
revenue in the third quarter of 2005 reached EUR4.1 billion, or 12.3 per cent
more than in the same period of 2004. Other services, especially sea and air
transport, also posted positive results in the same period.
However, the foreign trade imbalance continued to grow, reaching EUR418
million over the first nine months last year, as opposed to EUR119.5 million
in the same period of 2004.
