DUBROVNIK/RIJEKA, Jan 25 (Hina) - An Air Adriatic plane was not allowed to take off from Dubrovnik Airport due to the company's debt to the airport, airport director Tonci Peovic said on Wednesday evening. Another plane owned by the Rijeka-based air company is waiting for permission to take off in Saudi Arabia.

Peovic told Hina that the plane in Dubrovnik was not given permission to take off in line with a request by the local commercial court.

Airport officials met yesterday with Air Adriatic representatives to reach agreement on security for the collection of the airport's claims.

Air Adriatic said in a statement today that the issuing of the permit for the plane waiting in Saudi Arabia had been postponed due to an administrative mistake.

The permit is expected to be issued by the end of next week, the company said, adding that the safety of the passengers, crew and plane had not been at risk in any moment.
