Inflation rate 3.6 percent at end of 2005

ZAGREB, Jan 21 (Hina) - An annual inflation rate, measured by theConsumer Price Index (CPI), rose to 3.6 percent in December 2005, theCroatian National Statistical Office has recently reported.
ZAGREB, Jan 21 (Hina) - An annual inflation rate, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), rose to 3.6 percent in December 2005, the Croatian National Statistical Office has recently reported.

The inflation rate rose by 0.9 percentage points as against December 2004 when the rate was 2.7 percent.

Throughout 2005, consumer prices rose by 3.3 percent on the average in comparison to their average rise in 2004.

Prices of food and nonalcoholic drinks increased by 3.7 percent in December 2005 in relation to December 2004. In addition, there was a 3.8-percent rise in prices of transport with a climb of 14.8 percent in prices of fuels and lubricants. This considerably affected the structure of the CPI.

Besides, prices of services in health sector also saw a high rise of 8.6 percent.
