NJIVICE, Jan 15 (Hina) - Representatives of ecological associationsfrom Croatia, Italy and Slovenia met in Njivice, on the northernAdriatic island of Krk, on Sunday and accepted the informationreleased by Croatian authorities about
the reason for the postponementof the parliamentary voting on withdrawing from the Druzba Adriaproject, because of a suit that the Jadranski Naftovod company filedwith the Administrative Court.
NJIVICE, Jan 15 (Hina) - Representatives of ecological
associations from Croatia, Italy and Slovenia met in Njivice, on the northern
Adriatic island of Krk, on Sunday and accepted the information released by
Croatian authorities about the reason for the postponement of the parliamentary
voting on withdrawing from the Druzba Adria project, because of a suit that
the Jadranski Naftovod company filed with the Administrative Court.
Association "Eko Kvarner" from Croatia, "Lega Ambiente" from Italy and "Zveza
ekoloških gibanj Slovenije" from Slovenia also voice concerned with the way
that energy projects were being handled, notably the new project of the
Contaca-Trieste gas pipeline, it was said after the meeting.
Representatives of the three associations stressed it was unacceptable
that the project was being agreed without informing the citizens, associations
and representatives of the local community first. They ask that the governments
of the three countries urgently voice their opinion about the issue.
