ZAGREB, July 31 (Hina) - Prices of bread and other bakery products
in Croatia will rise about 10 percent at average which means that the price of
a loaf of bread will go up by 0.65-0.7 kuna, major bakery companies said on
Tuesday. They ascribe these trends to a 35-rise in wheat price and a
25-percent rise in flour price.
Last week, Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic announced that it
would be inevitable to raise prices of bread in light of the fact that the
wheat price had been rising in the world.
Cobankovic also expressed hope that negative impacts on the living
standards would be fended off.
