misdemeanour proceedings against Z1 television station for broadcasting the
June 30 general convention of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and
against another eight local stations for picking up the signal, for which they
may be fined with up to one million kuna. Proceedings have been
launched against them as the Electronic Media Act bans shows sponsored by
political parties, except during election campaign time, Council chairman Denis
Petricic told Hina on Friday.
The decisions on the fines will be made by magistrate's courts.
