"This agreement should be ratified as soon as possible," Spiric told reporters in Sarajevo, adding that this was also the position of the entire Council of Ministers.
He said that the authorities in Bosnia have understanding for the request of local farmers who want to additionally protect themselves before the foreign competition. He, however, added that joining CEFTA cannot be made conditional on the adoption of other measures.
Bosnian farmers asked the authorities to either implement measures encouraging domestic production or keep customs fees for a certain period of time on the import of meat products and milk and dairy products from Croatia and Serbia.
