Kosor thanked the United States for its support to Croatia in the Euro-Atlantic integration process. She also recalled a visit to the US in May, when she and Veterans Affairs Secretary James Nicholson agreed the continuation of bilateral cooperation in caring for veterans, notably those with PTSD, and their families.
Kosor said she was pleased that in a 2006 report the State Department positively assessed Croatia's progress in human rights protection, and thanked the US Agency for International Development for its assistance, notably in the strengthening of civil society and human rights.
Bradtke expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in political and economic development as well as in the development of human rights and civil society.
He also commended the adoption of the 2006-2011 national strategy for the creation of an environment facilitating the development of civil society, the adoption of the Volunteerism Act, the first of its kind in Croatia, the continued fight against trafficking in humans, and the efficiency of Croatian institutions in these fields.
