Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the negotiating team, Sejdiu said that members of the negotiating team would meet Kosovo parliamentary leaders on Tuesday to fix a date for a parliamentary session to discuss a delay in resolving Kosovo's status.
Sejdiu stressed that Kosovo had not given up its political vision of independence and that it could not be held hostage to constant delays of status resolution.
The Kosovo president went on to say that on Wednesday the negotiating team would decide on a position they would take regarding a delayed settlement and an announced renewal of talks with Belgrade.
Kosovo's negotiators would present that position at a meeting with US Secretary State Condoleezza Rice, scheduled to take place in Washington on July 23.
Pristina media said on Monday that the Kosovo negotiating team had begun preparing a new strategy for Kosovo's status.
