In a letter sent on Sunday, the Center"s chief Nazi-hunter Israel director Efraim Zuroff once protested over the open display of WWII-era fascist symbols, banners and uniforms by fans at Thompson's concert in Zagreb, adding that showing the concert in prime time would officially greenlight similar events.
The display of the Ustasha insignia at Thompson's concert is neither a coincidence nor a mistake, Zuroff said.
It is clear that the singer who is expressing nostalgia for the concentration camps Jasenovac and Stara Gradiska, is openly calling on his fans to identify themselves with the genocidal Ustasha regime during which Serbs, Jews, Gypsies and anti-fascist Croatians perished at the hands of the Nazi-led government, Zuroff said in his letter.
