ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - All Croatian nationals may vote in national referendums regardless of whether they reside in Croatia or not, the Croatian Constitutional Court ruled on Tuesday.

The court unanimously repealed the provision of the amended Referendum Act of 2001 under which only Croatian nationals who have permanent residence or who have resided in Croatia for at least a year before a referendum taking place, are allowed to vote in a referendum.

The court declared the provision discriminatory and unconstitutional, saying that the right to participate in a referendum could only be restricted by the Constitution and not by acts of Parliament.
