The plan, put forward by UN mediator Martti Ahtisaari, is just and the only way to resolve the status of the province, Bush said in an exclusive interview with the Albanian television network Vizion Plus on Friday evening.
The US president said he had made his position clear to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose country finds such a solution unacceptable.
As part of his forthcoming tour of the region, Bush is due to visit Albania on June 10. He will be the first US president to visit the Balkan nation.
During his visit to Tirana, the US president is scheduled to meet Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.
