Asked by the press about the construction of the Zagreb Arena and if the city would accept the consortium's contract, Bandic called for patience and said that his deputy Ivo Jelusic and colleagues from the city government were figuring out how to protect the city's interests.
Bandic said the City of Zagreb would not consent to blackmail or something that would damage the city's interests. "Smart people always have an alternative solution," he added.
"We are talking about big money and we must be patient," the mayor said. Asked if he was an optimist, he answered that he was a moderate one.
Asked by the press why no contract had been signed with Ingra-TriGranit, Jelusic said the city government received the consortium's last draft contract only on Tuesday. He said the draft was being examined by the city government and was not what they had expected.
