ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - Nearly 2,000 high school seniors from
Zagreb danced the quadrille in the city's central square at noon on Friday,
simultaneously and to the same music, Strauss's "Fledermauss", as high school
seniors from many other Croatian and European cities in an attempt to set a new
Guinness world record. The students wore the colours of the
Croatian flag - red and blue T-shirts and white umbrellas.
The dance in Zagreb's Ban Jelacic square was led by Tomislav Valdec
from the Spin dance studio. He said that more than 25,000 Croatian students had
danced this year against the 23,628 who did so in 2006, adding that the exact
number of this year's dancers would be known in a few weeks.
