The conference on the challenges of internationalising Croatia's economy was organised by the Croatian Employers Association and the Croatian-Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
The main prerequisite for fully exploiting Croatia's new position upon joining the EU is increasing the adaptability of the national economy so that it could meet the specific demands of the European market, said Boris Nemsic, president of the Croatian-Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
Croatian Employers Association president Emil Tedeschi said that according to numerous indicators, Croatia deserved to be in the EU already, and called on Austrian partners to cooperate and assist Croatia so that it would not stand behind the Schengen wall for much longer.
