Drnis Mayor Ante Dzelalija said that over the seven years USAID had invested eight million kuna in this town in the Dalmatian hinterland.
The funds were used for the reconstruction of the local infrastructure, the modernisation of the town market and the construction of sports halls in Drnis and nearby villages.
The memorandum of cooperation Drnis and the USAID mission signed last year, will help develop local self-government, Dzelalija said.
Ambassador Bradtke said that Drnis could be taken as an example of a town which had been damaged by war and managed to build a better future for its citizens.
The U.S. officials also visited the Krka National Park.
