MOSTAR, May 17 (Hina) - The chief of the Organisation for Security
and Cooperation in Europe Mission to Croatia, Jorge Fuentes, has said that
Croat returnees to Republika Srpska are in a worse position than Serbs who have
returned to Croatia because they have no one in the Bosnian Serb entity to
represent them politically. Fuentes was speaking on Mostar Radio on
Thursday at the end of a visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina during which he met
Croat returnees in Prijedor, Republika Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik,
Banja Luka Mayor Dragoljub Davidovic, and Croatian Serb refugees accommodated
in Bosnia.
Fuentes said that only a few hundred Serbs accommodated in Bosnia were
ready to return to Croatia, adding that this called for support from
international institutions as well as the Croatian government which, he
recalled, had committed to building 7,000 housing units for Serbs who had
returned to Croatia but had lost tenancy rights.
