The UNHCR's Sarajevo office recalled it began operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992 and that it had invested in excess of US$500 million in reconstruction and refugee return programmes since the signing of the Dayton agreements, which ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995.
The organisation said that 135,000 refugees were still waiting to return to their prewar homes and that it would continue helping them through its Sarajevo office, which remains active.
