Parties agree on proposal for new Serbian government, Kostunica to be reappointed PM

BELGRADE, May 11 (Hina) - The office of Serbian President Boris Tadic on Friday evening sent the parliament a proposal for the distribution of ministerial posts among his Democratic Party (DS), the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) of PM Vojislav Kostunica, and G17 Plus of Mladjan Dinkic after the three parties reached agreement to form a new government earlier in the day.
BELGRADE, May 11 (Hina) - The office of Serbian President Boris Tadic on Friday evening sent the parliament a proposal for the distribution of ministerial posts among his Democratic Party (DS), the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) of PM Vojislav Kostunica, and G17 Plus of Mladjan Dinkic after the three parties reached agreement to form a new government earlier in the day.

Under the agreement, PM Kostunica would keep his current post. DS will have 13 ministers, the DSS-New Serbia (NS) coalition will have eight, and G17 Plus four ministers in the new government.

Apart from keeping the Ministry of the Interior, the DSS-NS coalition will appoint the ministers of capital investments, energy, trade, education, religions, and a new minister, in charge of Kosovo.

Tadic's DS will appoint a deputy PM for European integration, and the ministers of finance, defence, culture, foreign affairs, justice, agriculture, telecommunications, labour and social policy, state administration and local self-government, environmental protection and the Diaspora.

G17 Plus party will appoint the ministers of economy and regional development, health, science, and youth and sports.

Serbia's new government is expected to be formed at a parliament session scheduled for Sunday, May 13.
