ZAGREB, May 10 (Hina) - Please not that the word ORGANISATIONS should be added in the eighth paragraph of the news item headlined "Stability Pact Co-ordinator praises region for great progress", which should read as follows:

"On this occasion, European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn addressed about 200 participants from more that 80 countries and organisations, and commended Stability Pact member states for their progress and commitment."

The following is the corrected version:

"Southeast Europe has proved that it can cooperate well at all levels in efforts to solve regional problems, which has allowed plans for establishing a Regional Co-operation Council (RCC), its own mechanism for facing regional challenges, said Erhard Busek, the Special Co-ordinator of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe.

Stability Pact"s Regional Table convened in Zagreb on Thursday morning to endorse key decisions on the future of regional co-operation, namely the appointment of the Regional Co-operation Council (RCC) Secretary General and the designation of the seat of the RCC Secretariat.

I am sure that the RCC will guarantee the success of the region through the further construction on the grounds of clear political and economic successes achieved in the recent years," Busek said in his opening speech at the Zagreb meeting of the Regional Table on Thursday morning.

The meeting was held ahead of a ministerial conference on Thursday afternoon and a summit-meeting on Friday of the South East European Co-operation Process (SEECP), also in Zagreb.

At the Regional Table meeting, Busek said that member-states had easily reached a consensus on accepting a motion that Croatian Foreign Minsitry State Secretary Hido Biscevic be the first RCC Secretary-General and that the RCC main offices be situated in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Praising the countries for having easily reached agreement on the above topics, Busek also commended the region for making an impressive development since 1999 when the Stability Pact was established.

Southeast Europe has showed maturity and during its eight years of existence, the Stability Pact has grown into a forum of regional democratisation and economic recovery, said Croatian Foreign Affairs Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, who together with Busek chaired the Regional Table's meeting in Zagreb.

On this occasion, European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn addressed about 200 participants from more that 80 countries and organisations, and commended Stability Pact member states for their progress and commitment.

The SEECP conference of foreign ministers, which is to be held later in the day, is expected to adopt official decisions on the appointment of the RCC Secretary-General and on the location of the RCC headquarters.

The SEECP summit on Friday is expected to endorse those decisions."
