Croatia dismisses Serbian foreign ministry note

ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - Croatia entirely dismisses as unfounded and inappropriate claims made in a note issued recently by Serbia, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - Croatia entirely dismisses as unfounded and inappropriate claims made in a note issued recently by Serbia, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The Serbian diplomatic note is yet another attempt at relativising a judgment of the highest international judicial institution and avoiding responsibility, the ministry said.

Last Friday Serbia sent Croatia a note requesting that it stop its campaign against the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) judgement exonerating Serbia of responsibility for genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Serbia said in the note that the state genocide against Serbs in the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in World War II had not been condemned either.

The Croatian ministry said it dismissed the approach which questioned the legitimate right of independent and free media to comment on the ICJ's judgement in the case of Bosnia's genocide lawsuit against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY).

The ministry said that the manner of communication used by Serbia was not in line with the achieved level of normalisation of relations between the two countries that were founded on European standards and values, the statement said.

Bosniak politicians today strongly responded to Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic's note which requested Bosnia-Herzegovina not to insist on the revision of the ICJ judgement which did not establish Serbia's responsibility for genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
