of four small ships the Brodosplit shipyard is building for the Grand Circle
River Cruise Line company from Boston, was delivered in the southern Adriatic
seaport of Split on Saturday. The Athena will sail out on its first
16-day cruise from Split to Athens next month.
The ship is 58.8 metres long, 10.68 metres wide and 4.50 metres tall.
It can sail at 13.6 knots, has a 21-member crew and can transport 52 passengers
in luxury cabins.
By delivering the Athena, Brodosplit has launched a new programme for
the building of similar ships, securing a place on the new market of small
luxury passenger ships, it was said.
